definatly a beta
At first glance I was pretty excited by this, the coding is well done for the most part, but once you actually get into the gameplay side of things in the hard modes, that's where the problems start.
1. Attack prioritys: this is one of the first things you should get right i.e. a special move will always beat a regular attack and another golden rule of fighting games that this game breaks... AIs grunt enemies should NOT be able to counterattack you in the middle of a combo even on hardest! Cheap back stabs from another ai yes, but not an attack from the enemy you're already hitting, it removes almost the whole point of trying to do combos.
2. The stamina system, it's a good idea to stop the game becoming an 100% button masher, but why must EVERYTHING except walking require it? you should do something like running drains the bar but you can still use a slow version when you have no stamina and/or stamina regains slowly if you run around too much.
3. INFERNO MODE LASTS WAAY TOO LONG! a challenging game is supposed to kick your ass because you suck, not by turning the game into a grindfest so it bores you to death. Every multiplayer session I've tried to do with it was the same story, everyone leaves out of boredom.
I will say however unlike everyone else I didn't mind moving the character with the mouse, it was the way they slide like they're on ice when they run I didn't like >.>
