I think I remember playing an older version of this, cool version of the old kungfu game with a christmas spin, but that game over screen holy fuck. I had to remember I was on newgrounds, anywhere else you would have got a lot of shit for not censoring that

I like how this is on the frontpage before this even passed judgement =P not to mention how I couldn't get past even the first part like a scrub. Is this some kind of testing fail on your part, or some button mashing technique only super virgins who played Mario party to death know?

God damn you blindsided me big time with this one, I did exspect a parody but NOTHING like this! Now that I've seen this, I want someone with this level of talent to put castlevania harmony of despair to shame. Yes I'm aware of the legal risks but frankly harmony of despair was done so half assed I still want to see it happen anyway.

ShadowWhoWalks responds:

harmony of despair was a product of 5 summer interns raping a box of used castlevania games, please do not bring back the memories in consideration of these rape victims.

This might be a rare case of the dialogue being better then the graphics, at least compared to other dating sims out there. It was frustrating that you don't really show the time of day, and there was too much randomness in general. imo By the time I was getting anywhere either I couldn't go to locations any more *cough* castle *cough* or the characters were no longer appearing.

Pretty good game, you've done a good job trying to minimise any slowdown from all the things going on at times. My pc is pretty fast so I'd be interested to know how a lower spec computer would do. The length was fairly short so the slightly repetitive nature of the game didn't outstay it's welcome, My only complaint I had was you should have disabled right clicking, it was the cause of me dying at least once >.>

Pretty addicting game but it needs some tweaks, for example the way you lose ALL your different production rooms if the zombie horde manages to get inside is too harsh imo. It's bad enough you lose some of the people in the building plus their equips without destroying the whole house too. I can't see how the hell you could possibly recover from that in time to defend against the next horde , once you reach a certain point and make a mistake like that you might as well start over I think =/

Dunno if was intended but there's some quite similar to super meatboy gameplay here, what is a more serious problem maybe though is that it looks like the game dimensions are wrong perhaps? Watch the left and right sides on scrolling levels to see what I mean.

Most interesting piece I've viewed in a while

I'm glad the game wasn't too long because I'm sure that music would get annoying in large doses. In fact I think the game format is actually a disguise, because imo this barely qualifies as a game, however I feel it's more like those rare breeds of interactive entertainment that has more in common with art.

The girl has some kind of deeper meaning but I couldn't pinpoint what to begin with until I saw all the endings which I'm sure was your intention, even with all the endings viewed it doesn't give too much away. This actually reminds me of a similar idea I had but never used, she could be many things like she represents a dull life routine.

SPOILERS DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ALL ENDINGS

Its because of the hospital scene and her glitching however that it's clear it's him having dependence in escapism through some form of self destructive addiction, the girl is just whatever that addiction is in a physical form made up in his head to help him forget.

In lamens terms for people voting on this review his addiction to something has become so great he's imagining it as a person to help along with the addiction to forget about his problems. It could be drugs or alcohol or a bunch of other dangerous if overdosed stuff.

That's my theory at least but that's of course if I'm not totally barking up the wrong tree x.x hope I haven't made myself look like a fool

What the heck?! *pinches self*

Aardman submits work here!? How did this knowledge slip through my radar? I've clearly got to pay more attention. Nothing really major to fault on here, I especially loved the use of music based on what was happening, the only thing remotely close to a glitch I found was on level 13 if Shaun or Timmy has a safe stuck on his head he can't move... that is unless you spam jump.

Despite that overall great stuff! The only ways this could possibly be better is more levels or a level editor, I could say more but I'd just be repeating what others have said already I bet.

oh nice! Sequels ftw

Tried to do this as asked on the author comments for my test idea http://pastebin.ca/1730100 the simple nature is part of the charm of this game and the prequel, it's a testament to how a good idea can be more important then visuals.

I never rated the original but I consider it the better of the two because of the variety of injokes, whereas this one seems a little smaller? Or maybe it's just me. Also as impressive as the create your own joke feature is, it's a little limited even on just how the characters look, but still great for a first version of it.

Former Top 50 newgrounds reviewer. I'm a 'Shadow Artist' ex hardcore gamer English Wiseass. I've done some newbish things in the past, but frankly who hasn't? Unemployed again deciding what to do next to be honest...
